The Panzerkampfwagen VI, or Tiger, was a German heavy tank of World War II. Its distinctive shape is still recognizable around the world. The vehicle itself has become legendary and is still present not only in historical materials but also in pop culture. The first Tigers were delivered to the front near Leningrad and to Tunis in August/September 1942. The Henschel-designed and manufactured tank was highly modern and efficient. Unfortunately, its production consumed enormous resources of valuable raw materials and time. The Tiger I and the few Tiger II tanks had a significant impact on the course of hostilities. The infamous and growing Tiger terror destroyed more than 10,300 Allied tanks and 11,380 guns with losses of only 1,725.
