The MiG-29 (NATO code: Fulcrum) is a modern Soviet (now Russian) front-line fighter, produced since 1983. East Germany has been using this type of aircraft since 1988. After German reunification, the MiG-29 fleet was used until 2002, when they were sold to Poland.
